Getting Married at Saint Aidan’s?

Weddings at St Aidans

We recognise that entering into Christian marriage is a very important and significant event for   couples and we would be glad to work with you to make your wedding a memorable celebration.

St Aidan‘s Church
Built in 1905, St Aidan’s is an attractive wooden church with a large modern foyer. The church seats up to 350 people comfortably and has heating, air conditioning, and good lighting.

Making a booking
We encourage you to plan well ahead with a date for your marriage. As you consider where to be married, you are welcome to come in and see the
Church. To make a time, or with other general enquiries, please contact the office (09) 929 4670 or office@staidans.co.nz.

Fees The fee for getting married at St Aidan’s is $1050 (including GST). On receiving your enquiry, an application form will be sent to you for completion. If you wish to make a booking, please complete this and return it, along with a non-refundable deposit of $200. The form can be returned by email and the deposit made by electronic transfer, or forward both by post to our Church Office. On receipt of the booking form and deposit, a booking is made. After this, one of our staff will meet with you to discuss the details of getting married at St Aidan’s.

We suggest that you pay the balance when you bring in your marriage licence to our office no later than one week before your wedding. This payment may also be made by electronic transfer.

The fee covers aspects associated with your wedding including time spent with you in planning your service, use of the church for a rehearsal and the day of your wedding, use of audio visual equipment and staff to operate this.

Fees for the organist, the ordering of special flowers, and the filming of your wedding are separate but should also be paid to the office before your wedding.  These details can be discussed with our Parish Manager or a member of our clergy.

Marriage preparation

We also ask all couples getting married here at St Aidans to do some marriage preparation conversations.  If you attend another Church these can be done in your own community or, if not, a member of our staff team will be glad to meet with you.

We wish you well as you prepare for your wedding.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you require any further information.
