Prayer Kids: Everyday Prayers for Children Today
This recently released book is written for children who can read in the 6 to 10 year old age group. It is in full colour with 16 splendid illustrations by Olivia Jackson-Mee, who was in her final year of secondary school in Auckland at the time. The prayers are written by Rosemary and Peter Atkins who have written and published several books to help people of all ages to pray.
This new book has 3 sections. prayers for today, prayers for others, and prayer for special occasions. These prayers will help children to pray for themselves – focusing on topics that are important for children of this particular age-group. They will also help children to pray for others such as family, friends, school, church and country – and one’s pet as well! The final group of prayers can be used on special occasions like birthdays, when away on one’s own, at Christmas and Easter, and when things trouble a person in this age-group. Cost -

Family Prayers.
This book contains a selection of prayers for younger children and their parentsto use on a wide variety of occasions. It will help to build a foundation for regular time of prayer as a family. The vivd illustrations in children’s style add colour and focus to the prayers for younger children. The second half of the book has prayers for parents of pre-school children to use.
This book has proven to be very popular and it has been useful for a parish to use as a gift to children at baptism. Baptism provides a wonderful opportunity for congregations, godparents and family members to present this prayer book to help parents nurture the faith of their child.
