Looking back and looking forward

What have been some of the highlights of the year that‘s been?

In New Zealand, what a dramatic year 2011 has been, from the tragic Christchurch earthquake, to the euphoria of the Rugby World cup and the uncertainty of the elections.

At St Aidan’s, from the calm and peaceful hold-the-fort interregnum with Brian Jenkins to the excited anticipation of the arrival of our new vicar Di Woods!

We have been conscious of God’s loving hands and guidance on all we have done and on the decisions we have made. As we go through a period of adaptation and change with new leadership and as we move forward to a new era in the history of St Aidan’s may we always rejoice in the love of God our Saviour moving amongst us, our caring congregations.

What are you looking forward to next year?

In this coming year we look forward to a period of increased stimulation and growth as we take the mission of our church into the immediate community surrounding us. As we open our doors and welcome even more of our neighbours to join us in

our activities and experience this great love which we are so aware of, we continue to ask God’s blessing on all we do in his name.

We welcome the new role which Craig Harris will play in our community, we welcome Anna Holt and Nathan Bayliss to our Parish family and we look forward to working together in new and exiting ventures.

May God’s blessing be always on us as we walk hand and hand into the future.

Marie Taylor
