Wednesday Friendship Group

Who said there’s no such thing as a free lunch?Wednesday Friendship Group

Join us for companionship, conversation and  free refreshments every Wednesday from 10am-12noon at 5 Ascot Avenue, Remuera.

New friends are always very welcome!

We started the year with great enthusiasm after the less than memorable summer weather. Our numbers are steady and we have welcomed some new visitors who enjoy the games and the fellowship.

We were sad to farewell Lorraine Vercoe when she moved to Selwyn Village, but she still comes to join the group when she can. Martyn moved to the North Shore but still joins us most Wednesdays. We are joined by the 11.30am Church Service people when they can and it is enjoyable to sit around the table after the service for a cuppa and a chat.

It was wonderful to see Noleen Cullen at the recent Ash Wednesday service. Joan is doing a wonderful task, ringing as many people as she can on a Tuesday evening to catch up and remind them of the gathering the next day. We are very grateful to Baker’s Delight, who donate a wonderful selection of goodies for us to have for morning tea. Also thanks go to Beverly and Marie who collect the donated items on a Tuesday evening. We welcome anyone who would like company and friendship to join our group on a Wednesday at 10am.
