Kia ora e te whānau,
When you come to Kids’ Church, you can expect to sing, dance, hear from the bible, participate in activities or crafts and share a little bit of food. Most of all, I hope you will leave with a greater knowledge of who Jesus is and how he wants to be a part of your life. The Kids (aged 3-11) meet during the Sunday morning 9:30am service for fun, fellowship and learning in a Christian environment.
St Aidan’s also runs mainly music on Wednesday mornings from 9:30am until 10:30am during term time. If you’d like to find out more, click here
Last year, we learnt a lot about how we can Grow Together in God’s Love, and this year we are taking it up a notch by putting words into action by Letting Our Light Shine. We will talk a lot about how we can be bright beckons of Christ’s light in the world, whether it be praying for others, donating to people in need, or being extra nice to a friend.
Drawn from Matthew 5:16, this theme will guide many of our sessions throughout the year, especially as we continue through Lent. So far this year, we have made food packs for St Aidan’s very own Pātaka Kai and card and pipe cleaner crosses to go to church communities affected by the cyclone.
We’ve also talked about how we can be superheroes of God and how we can do great things if we work together.
Each Sunday is a fun and new experience! We do all sorts of activities, like going outside to look for three-leaf clovers (for Trinity Sunday), trying science experiments (to learn about Jesus’ Ascension), playing games with the parachute (to learn about working together), and more! We have also tried a bunch of different crafts like making clay prayer labyrinths, painting the night sky with watercolours (for Matariki), and designing charms out of melty beads.
You can check out our board in the Social Lounge to see the other ways we can be bright superstars of Christ!
